Known for her exceptional oil paintings and quality art prints that depict quintessential New England summer scenes of vessels on the water, sunsets, and stunning nature-scapes, Vanessa’s work has accumulated numerous awards and been licensed for use in several media productions, including the series House of Cards and the film Doctor Sleep by Stephen King.
Her work was selected for sale in Pottery Barn and Annie Selkie, and her most exclusive pieces are displayed in private collections across the world.
Vanessa is also the writer and illustrator of The Adventures of Dune + Nash, a children’s picture book series that revels in the world of make-believe and interactive storytelling.
In addition to winning multiple awards, in 2015, Volvo Ocean Race commissioned Vanessa to capture the USA stopover in Newport. Her original painting of the fleet now hangs in the Volvo Ocean Race headquarters in Spain. In 2021, Vanessa opened her first store in Wickford, Rhode Island, which remains the only working studio/gallery/store in the popular shopping area.
Citing "nature as her temple" and painting as a "self-reflective practice," she sees each painting as a conscious creation that feeds her soul. Vanessa spends most of her time painting around New England and competing in various shows across the United States.
